User Survey Feedback Analysis: Period of July 2024 to September 2024
Three responses were received from July 2024 to September 2024. Considering cumulative responses to date:
- Forty four percent of respondents were from the public sector (same), followed by 22% from academia/researchers (slight increase) and 14% from private sector users (slight decrease), 13% from private citizens (slight decrease), 6% from ENGOs (same) and 1% from Indigenous communities (same).
- Forty seven percent of respondents reside in Ontario (decrease),12% from B.C. (same), followed by 11% Alberta (slight increase), 5% from Manitoba (same), 5% from Quebec (same), 3% from Prince Edward Island (same), 3% from Nova Scotia (slight increase), and 3% from New Brunswick (slight increase). The balance of responses is distributed among other jurisdictions.
- Reason for using the Open Science and Data Platform:
- 27% “for background or insight on projects related to my work/research” (slight decrease),
- 27% to “understand and/or better manage cumulative effects” (same),
- 10% “for background or insight on information relevant to studies” (same),
- 10% to “facilitate participation in impact assessments and/or regulatory processes” (same),
- 8% stated “for background or insight on information for the purpose of social causes and spreading awareness of cumulative effects-related issues” (same), and
- 18% stated “for other reasons” (slight increase).
- Users were ‘very satisfied’ or ‘satisfied’ with the following features of the Open Science and Data Platform in the following proportions:
- Learn about Development Activities section (74%, same),
- Search Function (71%, slight decrease),
- Filter Classification (70%, slight increase),
- Learn about Cumulative Effects (69%, same), and
- Map Creation function (62%, slight increase).
- Eighty percent were either ‘very satisfied’ or ‘satisfied’ with the “Relevancy of the content” (slight increase). Seventy nine percent were either ‘very satisfied’ or ‘satisfied’ with the “Quality of the content” (slight increase). Seventy nine percent were either ‘very satisfied’ or ‘satisfied’ with the “Accessibility of the content” (slight increase).
