User Survey Feedback Analysis: Period of December 2022 to February 2023

Ten online responses were received for the period of December 2022 to February 2023. Considering cumulative responses to the user survey:

  • Fifty percent of respondents were from the public sector (same), followed by 15% from academia (same) and 6% from private sector users (down slightly). New responses were received from NGOs and private citizens.
  • Over 45% of respondents reside in Ontario (increase), followed by 11% in B.C. (increase), 9% in Alberta (increase) and 7% in Manitoba. The balance of responses is distributed among the other jurisdictions.
  • Reason for using the platform:
    • 30% “to understand and/or better manage cumulative effects” (slight decrease),
    • 23% “for background or insight on projects related to my work/research” (increase),
    • 8% “for background or insight on information relevant to studies” (decrease),
    • 8% “for background or insight on information for the purpose of social causes and spreading awareness of cumulative effects-related issues” (decrease),
    • 7% “to facilitate participation in impact assessments and/or regulatory processes” (slight decrease), and
    • 25% “for other reasons” (same).
  • Users were ‘very satisfied’ or ‘satisfied’ with the following features of the platform:
    • Learn about Development Activities section (82%, an increase),
    • Learn about Cumulative Effects section (76%, an increase),
    • Filter Classification (71%, an increase),
    • Search Function (69%, an increase), and
    • Map Creation function (66%, an increase).
  • Eighty nine percent were either ‘very satisfied’ or ‘satisfied’ with the “Relevancy of the content”, and eighty three percent with the “Accessibility of the content” (both increases). Seventy seven percent were either ‘very satisfied’ or ‘satisfied’ with the “Quality of the content” (increase).
