User Survey Feedback Analysis: Period of January 2025 to March 2025

Two responses were received between January 2025 and March 2025. Considering cumulative responses to date:

  • Forty four percent of respondents were from the public sector (same), followed by 21% from academia/researchers (slight decrease) and 15% from private sector users (slight increase), 13% from private citizens (same), 7% from ENGOs (same) and 1% from Indigenous communities (same).
  • Forty seven percent of respondents reside in Ontario (slight increase),13% from B.C. (slight increase), followed by 11% Alberta (same), 6% from Quebec (same), 5% from Manitoba (same), 5% from Nova Scotia (same), 3% from Prince Edward Island (same), 3% from Newfoundland and Labrador, and 3% from New Brunswick (same). The balance of responses is distributed among other jurisdictions.
  • Reason for using the Open Science and Data Platform:
    • 28% to “understand and/or better manage cumulative effects” (slight increase),
    • 27% “for background or insight on projects related to my work/research” (same),
    • 12% “for background or insight on information relevant to studies” (slight increase),
    • 10% to “facilitate participation in impact assessments and/or regulatory processes” (same),
    • 8% stated “for background or insight on information for the purpose of social causes and spreading awareness of cumulative effects-related issues” (same), and
    • 15% stated “for other reasons” (slight decrease).
  • Users were ‘very satisfied’ or ‘satisfied’ with the following features of the Open Science and Data Platform in the following proportions:
    • Learn about Development Activities section (73%, same),
    • Search Function (71%, slight decrease),
    • Filter Classification (69%, slight decrease),
    • Learn about Cumulative Effects (68%, slight decrease), and
    • Map Creation function (61%, slight decrease).
  • Eighty percent were either ‘very satisfied’ or ‘satisfied’ with the “Relevancy of the content” (slight decrease). Seventy eight percent were either ‘very satisfied’ or ‘satisfied’ with the “Quality of the content” (slight decrease). Seventy eight percent were either ‘very satisfied’ or ‘satisfied’ with the “Accessibility of the content” (slight decrease).
