User Survey Feedback Analysis: Period of January 2024 to March 2024

Three survey responses were received from January 2024 to March 2024. Considering cumulative responses to date:

  • Forty five percent of respondents were from the public sector (down slightly), followed by 22% from academia/researchers (up slightly) and 15% from private sector users (up slightly), 12% from private citizens (up slightly), 6% from ENGOs (same) and 1% from Indigenous communities (same).                                                                                                                                                                
  • Fifty percent of respondents reside in Ontario (same), followed by 11% Alberta (same), 10% from B.C. (up slightly), 5% from Manitoba (same), 3% from Québec (same) and 3% from Prince Edward Island (same). The balance of responses is distributed among other jurisdictions.
  • Reason for using the OSDP:
    • 28% to “understand and/or better manage cumulative effects” (same),
    • 26% “for background or insight on projects related to my work/research” (same),
    • 10% “for background or insight on information relevant to studies” (same),
    • 10% to “facilitate participation in impact assessments and/or regulatory processes” (up slightly),
    • 7% stated “for background or insight on information for the purpose of social causes and spreading awareness of cumulative effects-related issues” (same), and
    • 19% stated “for other reasons” (down slightly).
  • Users were ‘very satisfied’ or ‘satisfied’ with the following features of the OSDP in the following proportions:
    • Learn about Development Activities section (73%, up slightly),
    • Search Function (72%, up slightly),
    • Learn about Cumulative Effects (69%, up slightly),
    • Filter Classification (68%, up slightly), and
    • Map Creation function (61%, up slightly).      
  • Seventy nine percent were either ‘very satisfied’ or ‘satisfied’ with the “Relevancy of the content” (up slightly). Seventy eight percent were either ‘very satisfied’ or ‘satisfied’ with the “Quality of the content” (up slightly). Seventy seven percent were either ‘very satisfied’ or ‘satisfied’ with the “Accessibility of the content” (up slightly).
