User Survey Feedback Analysis: Period of June 2023 to September 2023

Eight online responses were received for the period of June 2023 to September 2023. Considering cumulative responses to the user survey:

  • Fifty percent of respondents were from the public sector (same), followed by 21% from academia (up slightly), 15% from private sector users (up slightly), 7% from ENGOs (down slightly), and 7% from private citizens (down slightly).
  • Forty seven percent of respondents reside in Ontario (up slightly), followed by 12% Alberta (up slightly), 10% from B.C. (down slightly), and 5% from Manitoba (down slightly). The balance of responses is distributed among the other provinces and territories.
  • Reason for using the OSDP:
    • 29% to “understand and/or better manage cumulative effects” (down slightly),
    • 27% “for background or insight on projects related to my work/research” (up slightly),
    • 11% “for background or insight on information relevant to studies” (up slightly),
    • 9% to “facilitate participation in impact assessments and/or regulatory processes” (up slightly),
    • 6% stated “for background or insight on information for the purpose of social causes and spreading awareness of cumulative effects-related issues” (down slightly), and
    • 18% stated “for other reasons” (down slightly).
  • Users were ‘very satisfied’ or ‘satisfied’ with the following features of the OSDP in the following proportions:
    • Learn about Development Activities section (73%, down),
    • Learn about Cumulative Effects (69%, down),
    • Search Function (65%, down slightly),
    • Filter Classification (60%, down), and
    • Map Creation function (52%, down).
  • Eighty percent were either ‘very satisfied’ or ‘satisfied’ with the “Relevancy of the content” (down).  Seventy one percent were either ‘very satisfied’ or ‘satisfied’ with the “Accessibility of the content” (down). Seventy two percent were either ‘very satisfied’ or ‘satisfied’ with the “Quality of the content” (down).
