User Survey Feedback Analysis: Period of October 2023 to December 2023

Seventy user survey responses were received from May 2022 to December 2023. Considering cumulative responses:

  • Forty seven percent of respondents were from the public sector (same), followed by 20% from academia (down slightly), 14% from private sector users (down slightly), 11% from private citizens (increase), 7% from ENGOs (down slightly) and 1% from Indigenous communities (new).
  • Fifty percent of respondents reside in Ontario (up slightly), followed by 11% Alberta (down slightly), 9% from B.C. (down slightly), 5% from Manitoba (down slightly), 3% from Québec and 3% from Prince Edward Island. The balance of responses is distributed among other jurisdictions.
  • Reason for using the OSDP:
    • 28% to “understand and/or better manage cumulative effects” (down slightly),
    • 26% “for background or insight on projects related to my work/research” (down slightly),
    • 10% “for background or insight on information relevant to studies” (down slightly),
    • 9% to “facilitate participation in impact assessments and/or regulatory processes” (no change),
    • 7% stated “for background or insight on information for the purpose of social causes and spreading awareness of cumulative effects-related issues” (up slightly), and
    • 20% stated “for other reasons” (up slightly).
  • Users were ‘very satisfied’ or ‘satisfied’ with the following features of the OSDP in the following proportions:
    • Learn about Development Activities section (72%, down slightly),
    • Search Function (71%, increase),
    • Learn about Cumulative Effects (68%, down slightly),
    • Filter Classification (67%, increase), and
    • Map Creation function (60%, increase).
  • Seventy eight percent were either ‘very satisfied’ or ‘satisfied’ with the “Relevancy of the content” (down slightly). Seventy six percent were either ‘very satisfied’ or ‘satisfied’ with the “Accessibility of the content” (increase). Seventy seven percent were either ‘very satisfied’ or ‘satisfied’ with the “Quality of the content” (increase).
