Usage Tips
- Expandable/Collapsable Description: The less/more links at the bottom of the description can be used to control how much detail is shown.
- Terms and Conditions: Some providers include notes and disclaimers concerning appropriate use of their content, located below the Description. Additionally, the license under which the content is released is noted in the Source section.
- Report: Prepare a printer-ready report of the details held on this record by clicking the Report button. Use your browser functions to either save the result to PDF or to print.
- Cite: Click the Cite button to copy the unformatted citation reference for this record to the Windows clipboard.
- Canadian Locations: The Location section’s Geographic Location includes all geometry provided for the location, while the Coverage map view will only show geometry falling within the North American map area. Geometries outside the North American bounds of the map will be truncated, and a message will appear when this happens.
- Add to Map Button: Visible under the Location tab when an OSDP record with a Content Category of Dataset includes a linked and supported mappable service.
- Map Area Button: Visible under the Location tab when the OSDP record holds a valid Geographic Location.
- Collection Hierarchy: Content collections can have a many-to-many parent/child hierarchy, in which a collection could be a child of one or more parent collections, and it may be a parent to one or more child OSDP records or collections. Hyperlinks are included on the Metadata Page Collections Tab to navigate up and down the tree.
- Mapping in Bulk: Collections can point to many related datasets, and from the Collections view you can bulk-add many layers to the map at the same time.
- Linked Resources: Each resource indicates the actions available for it via a view or download icon, which can either be initiated by clicking on the icon or the hyperlinked Resource Name.
